Lesser-Known Fact About PP Woven Fabric

Polypropylene fabric or PP woven fabric is a term used for fabric derives from thermoplastic polymer polypropylene. It is the second most commonly used plastic after polyethylene and taken in use for many purposes such as making PP bagsPP woven sacks, wraps, and other industrial and consumer goods.

After the invention of polypropylene, it was marketed by the name ‘Moplen’. It is still the registered trademark of LyondellBasell corporation. But commonly, it is called by the name Polypropylene, PP or PP woven.

As the consumption of material started in different industries, people discovered that the material has the potential of customization. And later, polypropylene granules were turned into woven and nonwoven fabric, which extended its application.

Two types of fabric are widely used in the market, PPwoven fabrics and nonwoven fabric.

The key reason for the widespread use of PP woven fabrics is that this fabric does not absorb moisture, but it let the moisture pass through it entirely. This feature of polypropylene let the moisture on the surface evaporate quickly in comparison to other fabric that retains moisture.

The PP woven bag or PP bags made from the same material hold the same property. The bags do not retain moisture and keep goods safe and in the same state for a long time. The PP woven bags are used for storing a wide range of articles and agriculture products.

The other attribute of PP woven fabric is that PP fabric has an incredible resistance to chemicals acid and base. It means the PP bags are safe to carry chemicals like fertilizers, pesticides, cement, etc. To render more resistant to moisture, PP fabric manufacturers have introduced laminated PP woven fabric.

Polypropylene is the lightest fabric and has low thermal conductivity, abrasion resistance. It means the woven sacks or bags made from PP fabric is not susceptible to cracking due to stress.

The Use Of Polypropylene Fabric

The fabric has a different applications. It is used for packaging bags, sacks, camping items, etc.

The PP woven fabric manufacturer has done multiple customizations in it to make it more user friendly. The result of the same is BOPP bags, printed PP woven fabric, laminated fabric, etc.
